I keep hoping the board will swarm there. Very nice people.

Re: Focaccia Restaurant
The problem with the "out of town" swarms has been low attendance as many people walk or take a bus to these events.
We did one at Cinco Potrillo (sp) in Ixthulacan a few years back and only 50% of those that signed up showed up.

Re: Focaccia Restaurant
walking or busing out of the perceived safety of gringolandia seems closer to the reality I see.
This restaurant has the best thin crust pizza lakeside according to a few brave souls willing to brave the frontier and the bus stops in front of the restaurant.
There's a beautiful view of the lake, the beers are cold and your host and hostess will be happy to see you!

Re: Focaccia Restaurant
Sue, it is on the road to Mezcala not too far past Vista del Lago. It seems far the first time you drive out there but after that you wonder how you got there so quickly. It is an easy and really lovely drive.
CBob, wasn't the largest swarm ever in San Juan Cosola--and the bus doesn't stop in front of Viva Mexico as it does with Focccacia?

Re: Focaccia Restaurant
Anybody know Focaccia's hours and days of operation? Normally, i would just drive out and see, but coming from Joco actually DOES make it a ways away!
Thanks!
Thanks!

On the way back from a trip to Mescala Island last year, we intended to stop there but found them closed. I'm not sure whether they are open for lunch.

From time to time, they had to take their child to Montreal for surgeries, causing closures until they returned.

They are open for lunch at 1 and are open until 8 p.m. I believe; closed on Tuesdays. I do not know if they have special hours for the holidays.
Yes, they were closed a couple of times for several weeks when they took their son to Canada for surgeries paid for by the Shriners. He is doing great.

As I recall it is on the right approx., 1 & 1/2 mile past the entrance to Vista del Lago.

It used to be on the right side of the road--practically ON the road. Now they are across the street on the left (coming from Chapala) and up above the road. This makes for a quieter eating experience and offers a beautiful view of the lake and sky from the large, covered terrace.

I remember when they remodeled..........B 4 you could practically hold a sign up from your table to catch a bus. LOL. It's approx., 7 miles from Soriana! Fortunately, little traffic:D mid day.
