free mammograms

Tuesday, 23 of december, from 8 am to 2 p.m. there will be a trailer setup at the Ajijic plaza for free mammograms. They are prepared for 70 exams.

Ok, I can't resist it any longer. Is that 70 divided by two or multiplied by two?

Oh, very funny! There's a limit of 2 breasts per person, vestigial nipples do not count. Which is more than you want to know, yes?

Well, that's more than they wanted for sure.

I have warped humor and my reply could have gone very, very into the gutter. But my wife, a RN, would not have liked me much if I did.

Actually, I am not sure that men get breast cancer. I am uninformed.

But these days, it seems that everyone gets cancer everywhere, no sites are sacred!

Me, I am hoping that sufficient imbibing of wine and beer will be preventative! I work hard on that!

While rare men can get breast cancer.

My housekeeper and I went looking for the mammogram van this AM but it was nowhere near the plaza. On the way home we saw it parked beside the carretera across from Farmacia Guadalajara. It's a huge contraption pulled by a big truck with no way to get down to the plaza; and if they did I don't know how they would get back to the highway. I'm not sure who's great idea it was to have it at the plaza anyway. So forget getting your boobs squished today.

When I passed by a little while ago it was parked on the lakeside in front of Farmacia Guadalajara. Don't know if they are open for business or not.

That's where they USED to park when they did this in earlier years.

I stopped in a little while ago, they were supposed to set up at the plaza but Colon was closed. They will have it next month and said to check with the delgolado as to the date.

Wise choice on their part! Hopefully more advance notice will be given, and more people will be able to go. The day before Christmas Eve in our fair village is NOT a day when women are looking to get mammograms! I thought it was rather an insult that they scheduled their visit at such an inappropriate time, and with very little advance notice.
