Now, for the Best Clam Chowder....
My wife and I just returned from--you might have guessed it--Perry's, where I tested the clam chowder (also had a deluxe cheeseburger, about which I'll comment on the burger thread--if you can't wait, it was perfect). Perry doesn't make his chowder everyday. He said that not enough people eat it to make the prep worth his time and moola.
I enjoyed my bowl very much. My wife, who doesn't like clam chowder, tasted it and proclaimed that she could eat more. Perry's is thick, hearty, made with real cream and loaded with clams, onions, diced al dente potatoes, and seasoned with spices and herbs. I brought home two more bowls.
If you want some, you'd better hurry, 'cuz I'll be back on Wednesday!
