Jajaja. Does the guy really sell time shares? 'Cause that would justify the use of heavy artillery. Anthony Bourdain on Mexico - Page 2 860299

If anything, the show was a testimony and homeage to resilience, courage, and the Mexican spirit, focusing on a few key people who represent those qualities and who have the huevos to speak out against the status quo even at their own peril. It was practically a love letter. I bet that blogger had never heard of the incident at Máximo in el D.F. last year, and had likely never heard of Anabel Hernández or Javier Sicilia before watching the show.

I wish I wrote that.

I guess resilience and adaptability fall pretty close in the spectrum. As to the courage part, you have to pick and choose your battles carefully to avoid stubbing your toes on Big Brother's boots. No sense entering into a battle that it is impossible to win.

Ah...thanks for that , I would love to see that episode.

And that was indeed a very nice post, Rosa Venus...well said.

I haven't seen anything about time shares but El Gringo (snick) has posted about what he does do and the compensation he recieves for it. He hopes to live in Mexico one day ( with the " Mexican Nationals" ) and has had the occasion to defend that desire already. I'm so glad that I have never felt the need to do that, it seems to make people say stupid things.

He contends that the show should have been more "balanced" ...like his blog?

And you know that guy who does the GEM In Mexico series? He was in Chapala maybe a year or so ago but didn't do a show on Chapala. I only know this because I saw pictures on the Chapala Gobierno FB page. I like his show too.

I recorded it last night if anyone wants to come over and see it.  It is a little bit darker than many of his no reservations, or layover shows.  I enjoyed it and thought it was fair.  Mexico does have problems and lots of them.  See the new Congo show if you can that Anthony did. It was very good and slightly dark like the Mexico one was. I think Anthony has broken away from his keepers and is doing what he wants. I give him an A- for all of his newer shows on CNN. If you are a foodie check out his show on Lyon as it is mostly about chefs.
