Help! My incoming gmail stopped coming yesterday afternoon.

My incoming gmail stopped coming about 1:00 P.M. yesterday. I have checked all mail, trash and spam but the mail is not there. I have also checked the filter but that is not the problem.
Now what?

A widespread service disruption was reported at 12:23pm on Thursday. Not sure how one recovers an emails hung up as a result?

Thank you for the iinformation. My new gmails just started arriving but so far none from the time it stopped until the restart.

Hi Shana,

Most email servers will hold any outgoing email that has failed to be delivered for a holdtime of 4 or 5 days, some more, some less. During this time the servers will periodically attempt to resend any email that is in the outgoing queue. When the destination server becomes available, the email is delivered.  If the destination server does not become available during this holdtime, an undeliverable notification will be sent to the sender of the email and the email is discarded by the sending server.

Thank you. Hopefully me gmail will be resent. So far only the new gmail is arriving but I am happy to at least have that.
