Sandals
I am looking for a good pair of sandals. I know there was a discussion on this a few weeks ago but I'll be damned if I can find that thread. I believe there were some made in Brazil that you could get locally. Suggestions?
Re: Sandals
The made in Bazil are called PIRMA you could also get huaraches in Joco or Chapala.

Re: Sandals
There is a store near you Bob. On Ocampo in the first block from Colon on the lakeside. I don't remember the name of the place. And this is year old information but they did have PIRMA sandals there a year ago.
Re: Sandals
CB:
Before you go sandal shopping, make sure you have an adequate supply of high black socks or dusty tan coloured socks to wear with your new sandals!

I checked that store and all they had were little kids sizes. I asked if they had larger sizes and they said no. Perhaps they can order me some. I'll go back and ask.
I have no interest at all in the Huarache sandals.

Re: Sandals
I'm sure they are but no they don't look like it. I need some seriously heavy duty ones that can handle "off-roading" on the cobble stones and work well in wet conditions.
Re: Sandals
Th simple ones that the indigenous down here use are very durable and comfotable but nothing as fancy as what you see on the site. The sole are made with car tires and they do last a while. The ones on the site are duded up..

Re: Sandals
..and then, for the thriftiest of us, there is a nice ersatz something sandal at Walmart, which does have larger (12) sizes labeled (9) and which my esposo has found quite satisfactory. They don't last very long, but they're cheap and when the back strap breaks, they're still okay for gardening.
I paint out the logos with black acrylic, since they are really ugly.
He's skipping the white and pale beige socks to go with them.

Re: Sandals
Too short, too little hair, no beard and this Albuquerque resident doesn't wear sandals or high white socks.

Re: Sandals
The Pirma store is in the big outlet mall that you see on the left when you go to Costco the Joco way. We stop on way back. Last time I was there they did not have my size. If we can get the local store to buy em I will order and pay 50% down for three pairs. Give me an email if you want to look at em. I am on my last pair. Yes you can climb and excellent on the cobbles. They run 311 to 400. The lower price at the Pirma store. Don't know the new after January price.
