I used one of these HandiRack Inflatable Roof Racks, to transport my fishing rods, that I had in a PVC pipe container. Took the Cuota roads all the way to Zihuatanejo with no problems.

Neat product. Probably a lot more practical than my idea of disguising a roof pod and rod tube as a 4" cannon!
