Re: Road safety
I have an IAVE account so often get no receipt. Does that mean I'm not covered by that insurance? I doubt it.
Thanks for the phone numbers. I was driving toward Vallarta last week and was having trouble with the brakes just as I was navigating through the barrancas. So that was exciting. I noticed a GA truck up ahead, so I passed it slowly while looking all over it to try to get a full phone number. (I had also heard the three digit # might not work from a cell phone.) All I could see was 078. I've also noticed sometimes the CAPUFE sign on the highway has a phone number on it.
I need to put all the numbers in the glove compartment.

Re: Road safety
Another woman and I just returned from a round trip to Laredo from Ajijic.
We had no problems. Instead of 80 around San Luis Potosi we took 70 and then 57 which took us through the city. The inner roadway is a very quick way to go and we did not have to deal with the speed traps near the industrial area.
We mostly took quotas up and libres back. The libres were in good repair for the most part and truck traffic was significantly less on the libres.
We made it to the border in 10 1/2 hours and returned in about the same with a long lunch break heading home.
