Teenage brothers held in Turnipseed murder
FRIDAY, JANUARY 14 2011 15:00 DALE HOYT PALFREY

Local authorities acted quickly to solve the murder of lakeside resident Allan Robert Turnipseed, combing the community for clues that led to the capture early this week of two teenage brothers who have reportedly confessed to the grisly crime.

The body of Turnipseed, a 62-year-old U.S. citizen, was discovered in his Riberas del Pilar home on Thursday, January 6, the apparent victim of a robbery gone horribly wrong. Officials sent to examine the crime scene found the household safe wide open and empty, along with other signs of a burglary. A white Toyota van on loan to the victim from close friends was reported as missing, as well as about 9,500 pesos in cash that had been stashed in a drawer.

Turnipseed’s Jalisco driver’s license was found lying on the ground outside a Chapala Haciendas home on the day of the crime. The stolen vehicle was discovered on Saturday near the edge of Lake Chapala in the vicinity of San Juan Tecomatlan, a short distance east of Vista del Lago. The doors had been left unlocked, but keys were gone. Forensic experts were dispatched to the site to collect fingerprints and other clues. Results were still pending at press time.

Edward Bosch Aguirre, age 16, and his older brother Arnold Bosch Aguirre, 17, were locked up at Chapala police headquarters this week as the prime suspects in the January 6 robbery-homicide of lakeside resident Allan Turnipseed. The boys are known to a number of expat residents for a past history of petty crime and troubled childhoods.

It was later determined that Turnipseed died from a single gunshot wound to the back of the head and not of strangulation or asphyxiation as originally reported.

Based on the initial investigation of the case, authorities promptly honed in on two adolescents as the prime suspects, known by Turnipseed and a number of other expats residents. Some time between 5 and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, state detectives and municipal police located and detained the young men at a Chapala address. They were identified as Edward Bosch Aguirre, age 16, and his older brother Arnold Bosch Aguirre, 17, both are said to hold U.S. citizenship.

According to information provided to the Guadalajara Reporter by Chapala police chief Reynol Contreras and officials at the Ministerio Publico (MP) prosecutor’s office, the boys admitted to perpetrating the robbery and homicide shortly after they were taken into custody. They said they had pushed their way into Turnipseed’s home when he opened the front door. They coerced him into opening the safe and tied him up before ransacking the house.

The older boy confessed to killing Turnipseed because he threatened to turn the brothers in to police. They then made off with the cash they found on the premises, subsequently spending it on food, clothing, tennis shoes and marijuana. The presumed murder weapon was in their possession at the time of the arrest.

Authorities note that leads provided by various citizens were crucial to the prompt location and arrest of the suspects. The chief of police issued a special “thank you” to concerned foreign residents who offered valuable information related to the case.

Turnipseed’s long time life partner Bob Tennison told the Reporter that he spent six hours giving a statement at the MP office on the day of the crime. On the urging of authorities, he went back for another four-hour session on Wednesday, ratifying his declaration to guarantee that the boys would be kept under lock and key.

Tennison said that he and his murdered partner barely knew the Bosch brothers, having only met them in recent weeks through a friend who had kindly taken them under his wing. Since the crime occurred he has learned that the young men come from a troubled past that apparently includes rejection by blood relatives, a history of petty crime and association with a Chapala street gang.

At last report the suspects were still incarcerated in separate cells at local police headquarters. MP officials indicated that because they are under age, the case will processed through the juvenile court system under criminal law pertaining to minors. So far the authorities have been unable to locate their parents or legal guardians.

Better start citing your source so you don't get reprimanded for plagiarism. Normally you only "Quote" 2-3 paragraph's or italicize same and include author it is not as hard as it seems. There is a quote function above the box in which you reply and post new topic in.

Here is a quick and more detailed how to:
