Sister City celebration in Jocotopec tomorrow Feb.21 at 11am

Don't forget this important event tomorrow AM!

The municipality of Jocotepec has it’s first sister city - Plymouth California, just south of Sacramento in Amador County. They are sending a 5 person delegation for a ceremony where the key to the city will be presented as well as certificates stating the new relationship. The big celebration will be held on 21 February at 11:00 am in front of the city hall on the main plaza in Jocotopec.

The Presidente will present the 15lb key to the city. There will be a parade of children with the Mexican Flag, police and firemen. The entire city council will be on the dias. The reception, which will be at La Quinta Sabor is by invitation only. The city hall is on one side of the Plaza…there is a flag pole on it’s roof….there will be a raised stage set up in front of the building. Music is usually by the local high school Banda.

This is a big deal for Joco as it is their first sister city!……Our mayor speaks English so there will be no loss of understanding to the crowd.
