Where is Pepper Spray Sold?

Does anyone know where to purchase pepper spray locally?

It is sold at most hardware stores around here and even at the dollar store in the plaza.

BTW.......Wasp spray will also do the job.

I saw it at superlake and also smallmart on the ajijic plaza

I bought mine at the hardware store Jara near the main Telmex office. It's small so you can walk and hold it in your hand.

Wasp Spray is greatly over rated in a dangerous situation. Needs to be directed properly.
Are Tasers sold here?

As does pepper-spray. Don't be so dismissive - properly aimed wasp spray can be very effective even at a distance (which can be problematic for tasers.)

Plus, wasp spray being present in your home is easily explained whereas pepper-spray and tasers are much harder to justify.

Why would you justify pepper-spray. Everyone knows what it is

Alright, let's say you use it and are then investigated for use of a weapon. It is pepper-spray, you had it around for self-defense. It IS a weapon. You are guilty.

But wasp spray - you have it around to get rid of wasps (they've been such a problem for you.) You did use it because it was there. But it was there for an innocent purpose - it was a "weapon of opportunity" NOT an offensive weapon purchased TO BE a weapon. You are not guilty.

Let your husband spray you in the eyes with it and THEN question its efficacy.

All I am doing is reporting what I have read in many articles. They all say there has been no testing of wasp spray as a self-defense weapon. They all say something like, “You don’t know that it will work or if it does how fast the affects will set in. Some people who have been accidentally sprayed with it have said that there is very little effect.” “Although the toxic side effects of such chemicals can include eye and lung irritation in humans, they are poisons for killing insects. They may cause serious harm or injury to humans but it may not be an immediate effect.”
If I am going to be spraying something in an attacker’s face I want to be sure it will immediately do more than irritate him.

Mace then. Even pepper-spray isn't always effective, some people can shrug it off though most are incapacitated.

my wife pepper sprayed a pit bull on the malecon and although it couldn't see,it followed her and our dogs all the way home at a distance. the cop at the sail tried to shoo it away after being sprayed and it wouldn't leave.

Mace is a brand name for tear gas and isn't always effective. I have never seen pepper spray fail.

If you want to do more than irritate him, put a lit lighter in front of the spray and that will turn the sprayer into a flame thrower. That should take care of any petty irritation thoughts he may have had.
