What are the best restaurants in Jocotopec? We like to head out there for the Thursday tiangus and would like to try some good places to eat while in town.

Re: Restaurants in Jocotopec
the entire plaza is surrounded by birria restaurants. some say that jocotepec has the best in all of jalisco.
birria is a traditional jalisco meal.
we like the place at the north side, beside the clothing store and west of the cafe.

In addition to the expensive goat soup on the plaza and the excellent suggestions from Lunateak, you might also consider the Jocotepec China Inn on Miguel Arana about 100 feet past the Farmacia Guadalajara on the left hand side as you are heading toward
the plaza.
the plaza.

Taquería Don Emilio
I block south of the church on the next street parallel to the main street. (one way west). My favorite taquería lakeside, becuase...tacos de sesos.

Re: Restaurants in Jocotopec
thank you, all. Also, we went to the market in Jocotopec last week and it was amazing - huge, covering street after street. This week, hardly anything. Is the larger market a monthly event, or just during fiestas, and how do we find out when these major events occur?
