meeting with Presidente Huerta - tianguis paving project
Today, Ajijic Delegado Hector Espana and Harry Bublin who heads the Delegado Advisory Committee met with Chapala Presidente Joaquin Huerta, the Chapala architect and the director of projects regarding the tianguis paver project (a pad for loading and unloading at the top of Revolution and the same at the bottom, a two meter wide strip of interlocking pavers connecting the two and going one block down Guadalupe Victoria). Presidente Huerta acknowledges the importance of this project to the elderly community, the vendors, those previously injured and the community in general. He stated that he will assume the entire cost of the project.
He stated that some rules changed as of the first of the year and he would be able to give us a start date by the end of February or possibly sooner. He anticipated June as a start date. Harry reinforced how important this is to residents and he acknowledged same. He said that he would try for sooner. He assured us that it would be done at Chapala's cost. We will definitely have a start date as soon as possible.
He said that we could use the money the Committee raised for other worthwhile projects like more handicap ramps (Guadalupe Victoria, Ocampo and Hidalgo are planned). Other suggestions from the community will be invited.
People who made donations will be contacted to determine if they want their money back or if it can be used for other projects.

We were promised (last year), that the futbol fields and facilities had funds assigned for their improvement.
I was skeptical, but work began last week and maybe that whole area is going to get a facelift.

I know what you are saying folks but this group of folks is worth taking a chance on and having some faith. Big difference between previous Fearless leader and this one. I could tell stories.....I kinda (yea I know weasel word) trust these folks. They did everything they
said they would when I have donated. It takes a little time but it gets done. Give em a little bit of faith.

Zed, I just want to clarify one thing. My skepticism is for the politicians -- not for the good people volunteering and donating to improve their community. I have faith in them. I hope their faith in this presidente is not misplaced.
