Rodrigo Canales: The deadly genius of drug cartels

Here is a very interesting presentation on how and why the Mexican Drug Cartels work. One of the best I have seen.

I liked this analysis. The production and transportation of illegal drugs for consumption NOB actually brings a tremendous amount of money into Mexico (a good thing for Mexico).  Most Mexicans couldn't care less if a semi-truck load of cocaine travels thru their town on its way north.

The thing is, he only briefly talked about the other enterprises the cartels are into ie; gambling, counterfeiting, prostitution, and most importantly extortion.  It is this continued repression of the local populations where the cartels hurt Mexico and Mexicans.

I suppose he included those enterprises in his general comments about the violence and terrorism that these organizations commit domestically?

Business organizations of this size must consume an awful lot of software, IT, etc. Jajaja. I'm sure BillyGatebob and his ilk are loosing no sleep, probably sleeping easier, thinking of the contribution to their bottom line.
