This Week's Specials at Cocinart

I hardly ever (rarely...je je) eat beef.  Especially a steak.  But the arrachera special at Cocinart this week knocked my socks off. It's in a chile ash sauce with huitlacoche; this is high end MXN fare. Partner had the Chile en Nogada (one of my go-to meals when on special there).

Sopa del día at Cocinart is gazpacho this week.  Nice to have a cold soup on such a hot day.

This week Cocinart is once again featuring Arrachera With Chili Ash Sauce.  It's about the best meal I've had there and I've had many many meals there.  High end Mexican dish at a very reasonable price. Their menu including these weekly specials are also available on Traitte.

First a confession:  I ordered the arrachera with chile ash cream THREE times the week of April 2th  

And it's on today's specials blackboard!  

But I went a bit lighter and got the Sea Bass. I do not believe this was basa which is often passed off as sea bass in MX; I say this based on thickness (basa is quite thin) and flavor and texture (this was firmer than basa).  The fish was cooked beautifully and the Mediterranean sauce is quite light.  

My partner had the chicken in brie and mozzarella cream....ultra tender, smooth and with very good flavor.
