Ambulance Service
Now that I know which Hospital in Guadalajara we will use, I need to find out how to get there. Although the hospitals have ambulances, I don't want to wait for one from Guadalajara to get here. What ambulance service should I call from Lakeside to get there. We are located in Riberas. gracias

Re: Ambulance Service
I would call the Red Cross. They are kind of like an ambulance taxi. They charge by where you want to go. You could drop in there and double check with them.

Re: Ambulance Service
When I had my cardiac incident, we called our local doctor and he ordered an ambulance from Red Cross for me. Even though we are only 10 minutes away from Cruz Roja, it took two hours for the ambulance to come.
If and when we need another ambulance ride to Guadalajara, I plan to use one from the Chapala Municipal Clinic 376-765-5421. The last time I checked, they had more, and better equipped, ambulances than Cruz Roja.
The Chapala Municipal Clinic is located at Chinchollos #29 in Chapala. If you go on the street behind Soriana’s parking lot you can follow the arrows painted on the walls showing the direction to the Clinic. (376) 765 5421. It is a 24 hour facility fully staffed with doctors, EMS, technical and emergency staff with an 8 bed unit.
Lots of info on this clinic if you google: https://www.google.com/search?q=clinica+municipal+de+chapala&pws=0&gl=us&gws_rd=cr

It’s well known that in Mexico palms get greased when services are rendered.

The issue is there are just a few ambulances. If Cruz Roja (or whoever you call) is already out on a call which results in them going to Guad, you are SOL, mordida won't matter.
IMO it's better to have a relationship with a Dr. and/or specialist who practices both in Guad and at HSA. In an emergency it may be faster for you to go by car to HSA and let the Dr. drive from Guad and meet you there.
In a case of emergency I am not going to worry about costs. Others may, I won't.

In a case of emergency time is of essence and not costs. It serves you well to be aware of your options.
