Used to be called De Rusia Con Amor and was located in La Montaña Center at Colon and the Carretera. They started off selling Russian empanadas (pirozhki)and they were excellent...very filling and sort of a grease-bomb, but in a good way

Now at Guadalupe Victoria #13 with expanded menu for breakfast and lunch, Tues. thru Sun. from 9 to 5.

It is a welcome addition to my neighborhood, very different, tasty, priced right, the only complaint is straight back chairs with no arms, so I take to go...

Are you aware that restaurant dining chairs, and also dining chairs in most people's homes, are traditionally straight backed and armless? I've seen you make this complaint about other restaurants. I get it that you have a hard time with armless chairs, but it isn't some failing of the restaurant to have what are what most people consider normal dining chairs.

Restaurants prefer armless chairs so they can stack them when cleaning.

Back to the topic of Babushkas...EZ PZ carryout.  Their Russian empanadas as well as apple pie and cookies are displayed for sale at the street entry (just a few doors east of the Ajijic Plaza).  

35p per empanada.  Highly recommend the spinach & cheese and (even more highly) the potato and bacon.  

For me, one is a meal, other may want 2.

Ours were warm when I got them at 11:30.  They are open 9 to 5 Tues. thru Sun.
