Q Restaurant on the pier

We went to check the new place out last night. The ambience is fantastic. We had drinks and appetizers. Everything was very good. I noticed that the burgers are enormous. I asked how they were and was told they were excellent. They have a lot of staff who spoke fluent English. There is plenty of seating.

This pic is from the open railing tables on the lakeside looking in. If you want a "railing side" table for dinner I would recommend getting a reservation.

It looks really nice. I do wish some restaurant here would offer the option of a smash burger or one that was thinner than what is usual around here. If any here have been to. Steak ‘n Shake in the Midwest you know what I’m talking about.

This is a double burger but you get the idea.

Checked out Q yesterday, unfortunately most of the menu items are not currently avialble. The steak portion of the menu was the only portion of the menu available and it had a very restrictive choices of sides. However I will go back when they fully open.

Interesting. They had everything on offer when they first opened. I wonder what happened.

There was some vague mention of no gas in the kitchen.

Well hopefully this is just a minor glitch. I know getting qualified staff is also a challenge for new restaurants now a days.

Went to check out the Q Restaurant, but it was closed. Ate at Tango instead. I have talked to several that have been there and had issues.

Having lunch there Friday.

Well, we had lunch there today and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our waiter, Millo (Me-O misspelled, I’m sure) but he was excellent. Hard to tell what the beef selections were as they were listed by the Argentine names but the waiter brought out the meat on a large tray.

The Tomahawk was HUGE and a beautiful piece of meat if you want to share. I opted for what looked like a ribeye and it was delicious. You get a choice of green salad or a very good potato salad. The hamburger was ordered by another at the table who said it was good. The only slight disappointment was some kind of cookie that was stuffed with cajeta (I think) coated in chocolate. So the steak, iced tea and the cookie dessert came to 517 pesos. No complaints on the price - the meat was that good.  I wasn’t hassled because I ordered the steak well done and it was still very tender and cooked just as I like it. Also available, pizza and pasta.

It was pleasant eating on the deck and the chairs did have arms, Gringal.  No qualms about recommending it. They open at 1:00.

We are going to try it again tomorrow, if it is open.

Finally got to eat at the Q restaurant. We sat at a table by the lake that was lovely and the ambiance is very good. The chairs have arms and the waiters are very attenuative. I ordered Pasta Alfredo and my wife ordered Pasta seafood platter on Fettuccine. Both looked beautiful, but they were lukewarm at best and my wife's shrimp were not cooked through. I also had a Latte and it tasted very good, only it was lukewarm also.

This restaurant has work to do.

We went to "Q" last night and the meal and service was excellent. All four of us were satisfied. The place was packed. Two had the Vacio and two had salmon.

I saw a review on TOB that looks like the owner of Tango's wrote it..........lol. I have been three times and haven't been disappointed. The ambiance is the best in town IMO.

That and Taco Bell are two guilty pleasures I miss.  ;> ([/quote]


I sold a location for a Taco Bell here in Oklahoma. I told a Mexican friend this, and he said, " you know this is something the Mexicans will really go for. I said, Taco Bell, he said yes, these Mexicans have never tasted anything like this in their lifes!

I would like to see their reaction to it. I like Taco Bell also but I don’t compare it to Mexican food here - it’s just different.

Their reaction wasn't good the two times Taco Bell did come to Mexico.

There is an easy answer for those wishing for Taco Bell or Steak n' Shake? For those unhappy with current burger options - good thing you weren't here 20 years ago!

Been to Q on the malecon 3 times now, have been impressed with food quality and service.  I know some are not wild about the location of this restaurant but I’m happy it’s a decent place to eat and for sure a great place to enjoy some cocktails with friends or new visitors. Check it out!
