Lobo de Mar in Ajijic

Never seen bright yellow hummous before.

It was advertised as red pepper hummus; it was great! I searched images of red pepper hummus and many are quite yellow or orange. When we had a home in FL our local Publix had at least a dozen hummus's for sale, all the flavors and colors of the rainbow!

I guess I don't like it when things are called something they aren't. If I order hummous, I expect it to be traditional hummous- chick peas, tahini, lemon juice and garlic. Not flavored with anything else.
Same for pesto. There's all these other pasta toppings these days that are called pesto, like sun-dried tomato pesto, but that isn't pesto.

Your meal does look good, though.

These days if you want Traditional hummus then that's exactly what you have to ask for. There are even hummus products commercially available here in many different flavours including the traditional style. I also prefer the original but still tend to add more lemon and more garlic to it. My favourite crackers for dipping into it are the white corn Sanissimo Salmas which are baked not fried (tostaditas de maiz blanco honerneado). A taste combo that is delightful and (kinda) healthy.

Lopez produce in Ajijic has different flavors available along with alot of stuff from Costco, one on Plaza and one opposite Intercam and Oxxo..

Yes today. They were running out of special pretty fast, at lunch.

We were there today. Noon to 2:00ish

Yes we were and I took three photos of our food and they are all blurry. Sorry. I was very happy with perfectly prepared shrimp/rice/salad. One of us had the battered shrimp tacos and the other had a Ceviche (I think). All wonderful and I love the ambience of the garden seating. Good service, good friends and good food in a nice setting. Lobo de Mar is a keeper.
