Not much in Ajijic but they usually have a big festival in Cristiana Park in Chapala. I believe it may be cancelled again this year due to the covid.

Hi Bob, In your opinion is it getting better or worse? We've put off our trip sooo many times..but I don't want to be stupid. We can go whenever it's reasonably safe.. Never been there during Carnaval...thought it would be fun. Beer

Last week the Presidente de Chapala submitted a request to the Jalisco Health Dept. asking permission that Carnaval be held this year in Chapala No answer has been posted at Gobierno page.

I am not concerned about the Covid in this area.

Alrighty then...... We're triple vaxxed and I THINK we had Omnicron.  Just a weird day.  BOTH of us felt too tired to move...a little head achy,  just generally icky...but not stomach related.  Next day it was gone.  Not like anything I've experienced before.

Now if Carnaval is a go...we have our date!! cheers   It's been much too long.  I think the last time we were there is when we went to your St Patrick's Day party.  Life kept getting in the way.

We are booked and coming come hell or high water in Sept. for 2 months.

We are fully vaccinated, boosters, and have never had covid at all here in Florida. Life is too short and we have already canceled our trip twice.

The only thing that will stop us is closed borders or an untimely death. Hopefully, neither of those will occur.

Maybe not end...but I'd settle for slowing down and the death rate diminishing.  Looks like that may be starting to happen...fingers crossed.

Ajijic's Carnaval is low key.  They've announced the parade will be Tuesday (Mardi Gras) at 11.  My recollection is that there will be some weekend events, charro events at the bullring possibly.

I do not know about AJiic because it is so low key that you can miss it easily. In Chiapas it is starting this monday and ending wednesday after mardi gras which is on the first of March this tear.. In othr places it lasts 3 days otehr a week..
