Bike Path Road Work

Some extracts from a recent newspaper report:

•   Since work began two months ago seven vehicles have fallen into the ditches.

•   The lack of safety markers, the absence of any government (traffic department) agents, and malfunctioning traffic lights have aggravated traffic problems in the area.

•   The organization responsible for overseeing the project is the State of Jalisco SIOP Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works.

•   The project was supposed to be completed in December, but it could be until March when the work is completed.

Nothing new..
Road work is always done during the dry season , therefore the high season
Public work always start late and is always inconvenient
Public work always goes over budget
and specifically for this one , it is dangerous and poorly marked..
No one will argue with that one..

I came close to being vehicle #8 yesterday afternoon.

What the heck are doing ??

Today while heading to the west side, I noticed stanchions have been placed through La Floresta in the middle of the "ditch". I believe these will be mountings for lights. Any idiot of a civil engineer knows that you put objects that can be used to kill people in an accident far back from the road, not right next to it where it will be easily hit and damage cars and bodies. The light stanchions thru Ajijic are back on the edge of the sidewalk. Idiots!!!!!!!!

Well with all the new lighting they will at least be able to see what they are hitting.......
