AMLO is proposing decriminalization of all drugs

Im against it, lessen pot penalties but keep the others illegal. There are too many living extremely well off crime in Mexico and they will not suddenly accept a pay cut and look to getting a real job that pays per their level of education which would be 200 pesos a day, if that, especially after earning thousands of pesos a week.

Many people earn money off drugs, the police, the authorities at all levels, attorneys, those who sell goods and services to the aforementioned. Many people look the other way and profit from criminal activity, a good chunk of people in the country like you have never imagined.

Then bad guys will continue being bad guys and rob, rape, torture, extort, kidnap and murder. I prefer to keep them in the drug trade where they can murder each other and not mess with the normal people.

What I am not clear on is who the decriminalization is for, user, provider, or both? Several of the articles seemed to be talking about the users, not the providers.

Kinda like the Philippine solution.

I agree with Spencer insofar as what the gangs will turn to if drugs are no longer a source of income - extortion; kidnapping; human trafficking; robbery. Gringos may no longer be spared.

They're out of CBD in Ontario as well as I have been searching for a friend who just returned there. And that's what most people want. Supply and demand. Hopefully the GUV will figure it out sooner or later.

The first problem to fix here is corruption not legalzing or letting people steal gazoline or do whatever they feel like. The lack of enforcement is dreadful, in some state like Chiapas it borders anarchy.. people can block roads for whatever reason and extort money from peope almost on a daily basis, people invade other people land and government land and turn around and sell it sometimes with escrituras and only when rich people land is taken does the government act and it goes on and on.. There is NO respect for any rules and order, it can actually be pretty scary.
Mexico is not Portugal or Canada  and legalizing drugs should not be a prority . I rarely agree with Spencer but on this one I do, way too many people without any scrupules or moral are living off drugs, to yank their income is not going to help.

We see how well it works in the US where they have a whole lot money for rehab than they do here. Frankly by the amont of meth heads there are around, I do not think they seirously go after the users .
