Oh, dear. I hate hearing this.

Yeah, it is/was ugly. I saw it on FB on 2 coast news sites I read, lots of pics, dead guy was a truck abarrote driver who resisted giving them his truck to torch so the shot him in the head, burning trucks, buses, semis, blockades etc. I'd share it but I've never figured out how to do that from FB.

Was in Barra/Manzanillo area all last week, no problems there, except for those damn, biting, right after sunset, critters. Lots of traffic and tourists, no police or military presence that I saw. Tomatlan is 3 hours north of Barra.
Lots of Gringos eating turkey out on the Isla, and it was pretty darn good for a Mexican cosinero except for that horrible relleno.  

Good for you! Dodging bullets, way to go.

At my age, I have a hard time dodging a caracol.
