DEF for newer diesel trucks

Has anyone seen this for sale anywhere?
Last I checked, not at Walmart, Autozone or Orma auto parts.

OK I admit I am dumb. What the hell or heck is DEF?

Going to Google didn't help much.

I inquired at every fill-up from the border to here, but none of the stations even knew what it was.
I looked at the link posted above but no mention of distribution so I sent them an email. Fingers crossed.....

Most (all?) newer diesel vehicles will throw up a lot of warnings if the DEF tank starts getting low. Some will actually NOT start after the vehicle’s DEF tank is empty. Others will reduce the vehicle’s speed to 5-10 mph until the DEF tank is filled back up.

The problem is that these newer diesel engines are meant to run on the less polluting, ultra-low sulfur fuel which is not widely available in MX. Their "dirtier" diesel fuel mucks up the engine much faster, hence, more DEF is used here. Still can't find it.....

Have you asked the dealerships here that sell those vehicles? Checked Amazon? Asked Felipe at the taller next to Telecable?

The diesels engines made in MX for the MX market are different. They are not as clean, and do not require ultra low-sulfur fuel or DEF. And other than some border towns and CDMX, there isn't much of that fuel. Even the fleet Mercedes Sprinters vans (DHL, Estafeta, UPS, Jumex) don't use/need the low-sulfur or DEF.

Good idea to check with the big international haulers. You would think they would be required to follow the current regs, maybe not.

They, the Mexican truckers, drop their trailers just beyond the border, where they are picked up by US trucks. Then, the Mexican trucks hook up to southbound trailers.

Autozone in front of Walmart now carries DEF.

OK call me crazy but been told by a fellow Teamster/Dreamster just now that the major component of the DEF formula is pig urine (uric acid). This conjures up a lot of images of the necessary accumulation.
it appears the onboard computer decides when to inject this shit to clean out the pipes, so to speak. This explains why a newer deisel truck will suddenly beltch black dreck for 5 seconds or so. Isn't that swell.
So, please be mindful when peeing into that hole .
