New restaurant

Has anyone tried the new restaurant in the old #4 location?

Yes. Very small menu (ok by me!), I guess it's sort of Peruvian/High-end "Latin Fusion" or something. Lots of items sound interesting. Went there with four others. A couple of us wanted to try the achiote (maybe adobo) ribs, but they only had one order left so I didn't get it. I ended up with a couple of appetizers. The fried calimari with a green dipping sauce/broth that was a small portion and seriously overcooked. Rubbery/leathery calimari. A couple of sopes with pulled pork were okay, but sounded a lot better on the menu.

This was a couple of weeks ago. I'll give them another try because the menu is so different, but I'm going to wait until I hear they have some of the "new restaurant kinks" worked out. Maybe they already have?

We are headed there tonight for "The Crooners" with a group of 14. I walked over and told them, twice this week, how many were coming and reconfirmed the seating area and arrangements. I also looked over their liquor shelf and the wines and suggested they stock a Rose.

Usually I do not like dinner music but their latinitos band which has been playing the past 4 Saturdays or so is softer and without lyrics easier to listen to at my house across the street. The band is only on SAturday otherwise their music is on a CD and not amplified which is just right.

Right. I forgot to mention the service which, if it hasn't improved since my visit, must have been downright comical with a group of 14.

There is a new restaurant in town Sancha La Boba from Tlaquepaque it is kind of a fusion type it is in with Amador's Smokehouse! I had a pannini and it was good!!
