Oaxaca Dog Poisonings

Wasn't there a town in Canada that would also kill strays on designated days? Residents would be warned ahead of time so they could keep their pets out of danger.

In Teotitlan del Valle people were warn that all dogs that came to the market without a vaccination tag would be fed poison.. The problem is that they ran out of tags so many vaccinated dogs were killed as well.
In Amatenango del Valle Chiapas the government announced that any wondering dog would be killed as well.
In many indigenous community roaming dogs ar a problem so the authorities kill them on a regular basis but they usually warn people.
I visited that town in Northern Oaxaca where the government is being accused of killing the dogs..who knows if it is true but usually the government announces they will do it. In San Cristobal de las Casas people say they kill roaming dogs as well, I notice that sometimes the garbage truks have many dogs around and sometimes none so I suspect it is true although I have never observed it..so who knows... I live one block from the market..

Gee, Brigitte, is they kill "any wondering dog" then I guess all dog philosophy would disappear.
