Some teenagers came to Upper Riberas last night with their fighting dogs on chains in a gold pickup. They were whistling to stray or loose dogs to entice them to come and fight with their viscious dogs. Beware if you see a gold pickup with chained dogs in the back as they are up to no good!

If you see these men, (they are men, not boys), please note the license plate # and call police. It is against the law to fight dogs, this is against the law the world over. This is cruel abuse and they may be after YOUR pet. They do need bait dogs in order to train their dogs to fight.

Luring dogs to use as bait would fall into the category of abuse would it not?

My neighbor recently observed a group of dogs, locked up in a yard, who had been given a small puppy to kill. We live in Chula Vista. She called the authorities and they came quickly - good news. Dogs have now been moved, although the behavior of the owners probably hasn't changed. This kind of thing seems to be common here, and I'm so glad there are at least some laws against animal abuse. Please don't hesitate to report!
