Looking to borrow waders Empty Looking to borrow waders

Any chance somebody here has fishing waders available for loan? We are shooting a scene for a movie and need somebody to wear them so they can walk into the lake for a shot we're doing. The producer asked me to inquire. I assume they will need to be pretty high, as the person needs to kneel in the water and not get wet. Not knowing anything about fishing or waders, maybe somebody can offer guidance on what I'm trying to find?

Thanks for any help!

You need chest waders most likely. I have a pair back at the farm, but that won't help you.  Beer Beer

unfortunately i gave away my hip and chest waders before we moved.
do you really need them? maybe you could borrow somebody's camoflage[sic] pants and pretend they're waders. get them wet beforehand so that they don't change during your shoot.

Thanks, Pedro. Actually, the whole idea of the waders is to keep the actor from getting wet. He's got a few years accumulated and we don't want to give him pneumonia! Me, on the other hand... I'll probably have to wade out there with my camera and just tough it out. You know, the stars get all the breaks while the crew gets their name in small type at the end of the credits!  Very Happy

Shooting sometime after the first of the year, but we haven't set a date yet. Depends on when the cast and crew are all available after the holidays. Not for the Polar Bears... this is for a movie we're shooting, final scene. I've got some sandals with tough soles that have proven themselves walking over lava rocks in the surf of Hawaii, so I'll be fine.

Don't need additional crew on this shot, thanks... just me and my camera. No sound even, as this is video to go along with a voice-over we already shot. Just need the right time, right place, and waders. :)

i guarantee that you ill need sneakers tied tightly. with sandals you won't be 'FINE'. have you ever been in the lake? i have several times so i speak from experience. kidding about joining crew. as i mentioned the lake is not  that cold even in jan/feb. warmer than air sometimes.
last jan 1 was veeeeryy cold[i wore my moto jacket] and the swimmers i talked to said it was muuuucccchhhh warmer in the water.

Yeah, we watched a "rescue" one day, with a couple of girls stuck in the mud up to their waists, and a couple guys crawling out on boards to pull them from the muck. It was very entertaining and the crowd let out a cheer when they were finally out.

Hopefully the area where we're shooting won't be that messy. We did one other shot near there, where we had to walk out in the water partway... no problem. Much more solid surroundings! Thanks for the warning, though.

Polar Bear in the water with a motorcycle jacket. That sounds like an interesting visual.
