Re: Guys surf fishing
Here is the fishing report:
When we arrived in Manzanillo all the fishing charters we called said they were closed due to the threat of Hurricane Raymond off the coast near Acapulco. We went down to the marina and found a Mexican charter that said he would take us out the next morning if we didn't mind the swells. It was a 36' boat and it was $100 per hour. This included all the gear, the licenses, beer and tequila. We chartered it for 5 hours.
We caught:
19 Tuna (3 lbs to 5 lbs)
2 Mahi Mahi (approx. 30lb)
Needless to say, a very good time was had by all!!!!!!

Also known as striped tuna, bonita tuna, Aku, etc., etc.
BTW.....for a working woman living in Zapopan you sure know a lot (or a little) about fish off the shore of Manzanillo.
Bye Bye Solo.......

They sure do. The captain made us some "Mexican Sushi" while we were out fishing. Raw tuna, onion, soy sauce and some limon, all chopped up and mixed together.
Re: Guys surf fishing
I am envious, plus really Happy you guys are having a great TRIP! I can't wait for my trip with SUN FAN, in a Panga! Remember, Pescador caught 22 Dorado on his last trip, fishing out of a Panga, ALONE! Not bad for a young 70 year old, avid fisherman..........YA THINK?

Re: Guys surf fishing
Uhhh Bob. Correction. That was 22 Amberjacks not 19 and 2 Dorados.
Cost per person - gas, toll, accomodation, charter and generous crew tip
was about $210 USD.

Re: Guys surf fishing
Hopefully you boys will have some calmer sea's for the pangas. There was no panga fishing on this day. In fact we were the only charter boat we saw out there the whole day due to the larger than normal sea's from Hurricane Raymond.Jim W wrote: I am envious, plus really Happy you guys are having a great TRIP! Re: Guys surf fishing
TFF CB. Usually the launch occurs when land is out of sight.....Sun Fan said you were fishing in sight of land? Nothing worse than the dry launch with a fish on! Makes ya want to up, chuck, and die........LMAO.CanuckBob wrote:Nobody launched. All were experiencedsemenseamen.
Price for the trip was great.....less than $225.00 pp, including room, boat.....how much were the table dances? Manzanilo has some great night life!

Re: Guys surf fishing
Hey Guys! Thanks for sharing the photos, good to hear that you were able to get out on the water and have some fun.
We just returned from Laredo, early this morning via ETN bus. Took our van North and sold it, of course I brought back fishing equipment for fishing from a Panga! LOL
Hey did those Dorado's jump for you?? One of the most exciting fish I have ever caught on light spinning gear! Also very delicious eating.
Thanks again, glad you had a safe trip.
Hey JW , sure hope you get to do some Panga fishing next time you come South.
Regards,
Pescador

Re: Guys surf fishing
No, it is called Miami Beach and it was locked down tight with a "suspencion" notice hung on the door. The one across the street was also locked down. Perhaps Manzanillo is shutting down such establishments?
Re: Guys surf fishing
Hopefully Marv, I can get a trip scheduled that will include you!!!!! I luck forward to learning from you!!!Pescador wrote:Hey Guys! Thanks for sharing the photos, good to hear that you were able to get out on the water and have some fun.

Re: Guys surf fishing
Jim, you need to get back before April for the good fishing. They told us it was good from late October to early April. I am tentatively planning a "double header" (2 days AguaMilpa, 2 days PV or San Blas) for early March.
Re: Guys surf fishing
Bob, If hell doesn't freeze over, I will be there! Side note, met a guy @ the golf course today.......die hard Large Mouth Fisherman, owns a real Bass Boat......lives 2 blocks from us....going fishing already.....2 1/2 hour drive....HOT DAMN!
