Teuchitlan Pyramids
Today we took a trip to the town of Teuchitlan to see these spectacular circular pyramids that date back to 350 BC. Teuchitlan is about 2 hours north west of the lake.

There's a great balneario less than a mile away from the pyramids called El Rincon,it's a nice place for swimming and picnicking.

yes it is very nice and around there the lake looks like they were chinampans at one time. That is a nice area, also a nice hacienda/ hotel not far from there as well.

They say the lake used to be 4 times as large back in those days and I believe I saw some drawings depicting those times, that looked like chinampans.

Is that where they played football to the death with a small boulder?

Re: Teuchitlan Pyramids
Yes, they played a game with a rubber like ball (some say a skull wrapped in leather) that you could only move forward with your hips. The guide said these people didn't kill the losers like in some other cultures. He said they may have made a blood sacrifice that didn't involve death, only cuts and piercings.
