Mexican do not call list, stop telemarketers

PROFECO, Mexico's consumer protection agency has set up a toll free number to register your phone number in the do not call registry so you will not receive solicitation calls, businesses violating this registry can face stiff fines. 

For Guadalajara and Mexico City dial 9628-0000 and other areas (like Chapala) call 01-800-962-8000 from the phone number you want to register

Options are in Spanish but once you call choose option 1 (hit the 1 key) to register and then hit option 4 to block all solicitation calls.

I tell them I am very interested in their product or service but I just need to put them on hold for a couple of seconds.......of course I lay the phone down and come back and hang it up a few hours later.

It never fails.......and they don't call back. Keeps the mother in law from calling too!!!

We get calls for the person who had our number before us (we've had it for 2 years). After 6 months or so of girlfriend calls, we had assumed the calls were collection agency type calls. If they are just marketing calls and stop - yea Spencer!

Does this include the phone company?  I get a lot of calls for some guy named "estimado cliente" who does not live here;)
