Re: SAN BLASS NAYARIT
The creatures that infest San Blas are known on the U.S. Gulf Coast as "no-see-ums" although sand fleas is an acceptable description. San Blas itself is a dump that would make a rusting tin can on the beach with a partially clinging label reading "Hormel Pork&Beans" look like the Taj Mahal. Dawg is not a fisherman but I am informed by acquaintances that the Wampus Kitty hunting is supurb in that God-forsaken craphole. You hold the croker sack and we´ll see you later.

Re: SAN BLASS NAYARIT
The Dawg has spoken, but, he didn't mention that there is a fishing derby out of San Blas in June, it pays 4000 pesos per winner, based on species, Tuna, Dorado etc.
Dawg,This is not a trick question, but I have always wondered if when 2 people get married in Alabama.....ARE THEY STILL COUSINS?
I will post info on the fishing derby when I receive it, and the No see ums are not an issue off shore.

Hell, if you´re driving around rural Alabama with Yankee license plates, $4,000 Pesos won´t even get you out of the pokey once Deputy Billy Bob spies yo ass buying a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon at the 7/11.
You think you are so smart, JW, but see if you can answer this. If you marry yo mama in Alabama and have a boy child with her, are you his father, his grandfather or his uncle? If you die before he does, who inherits the trailer? If it's yo boy, does he have the right to evict mama and throw her out of the trailer along with her case of snuff and three gallons of Early Times Bourbon bought on sale at WalMart?

We European bred Alabamians don´t answer questions DIERectly as we find such behavior unbecoming. We prefer to beat around the bush as is appropriate for folks who sanctioned slavery and racial segregation for hundreds of years and explaining that would be inconvenient. Let´s remain genteel here, please. We like words that resemble meringue on a lemon pie. Soft, gentle, undisturbing, tasty but not too tasty and unlikely to upset Aunt Millie.

Re: SAN BLASS NAYARIT
A "no-see-ums" story:
Back in the early 70's, I was a sales rep for a backpacking equipment company by the name of JanSport. We introduced a new style tent and were the very first manufacturer to use "no-see-um" proof netting for windows and doors. While this was a big deal in certain regions, I was drawing blank stares when I mentioned this feature in the Central Rockies during sales clinics. So I decided I needed the following sales aid:

I assured everyone that the jar was full of "no-see-ums" and that was why the mesh was so fine. Worked like a charm!

Here is a link to one of the fishing tournaments in San Blas. I don't know about the marlin but the other two "catches" look pretty sweet!!!!

Re: SAN BLASS NAYARIT
Thanks for posting that Jim. For anyone that has a GPS unit where you can enter these values it will take you right to the front door of the lodge.
