It will be 12 December this year. The Government of Guatemala will not charge any nationals to visit archeological sites and ceremonies, it remains to be clarified if tourists will be charged (or sacrificed).
There may be a charge for "end of world ceremonies" on 20-21 December.. If world doesn't end, money won't be cheerfully refunded. Cash only, no credit cards.

By the way, the Mayan Civilization has not disappeared, it is only keeping a low profile!
