Or, from Sonora!
Anything better than Google maps?
Suggestions?
Hints?

We use to take it all the time and than someone who knows such stuff suggested we stop and go the US route and pick up 15 at Nagales.  If you do insist drive only during the day and don't go off the road and good luck! Do be aware it is a two lane road with good shoulders and you are expected to pull over to the shoulder and continue driving when a car in the opposite direction wants to pass. I think this is shown by a dash on the road at the shoulder edge. It made us pucker until we figured it out.

I have not heard anything in quite a while about the 'safety' of the highway from Mexicali to Santa Ana, but if were me I'd go to Nogales to cross. Going that route one hardly needs a map.... you just stay on the 15 cuota to Mazatlan and on to Guadalajara/Ajijic.

Depending on what time one crosses at Nogales, a good first stop is Navojoa and the Best Western; then Mazatlan and the 'new' hotel out around the cuota... go into town to enjoy it for a day or two.... and then on to Ajijic the last day. Eazy-peazy.

Thanks, but ENTIRE trip MUST/WILL be in Mexico!

I know the route, I was just concerned/interested in anyone who has traveled the route lately and might have some info!
