La Manzanilla
We are visiting La Manzanilla this week. It is a very nice little town with great beaches. Problem is we didn't realize that half the town would be closed down in the off season. Fortunately there are still some restaurants and shops open year round. We finally had a chance to visit Melaque for the first time. We really liked that town. Between Barre de Navidad, Melaque and La Manzanilla we like Melaque the best. It seems to have the most amenities and the nicest beach IMO.
We are just waiting for Sparks to invite us over for a drink.......

BTW.....these pictures were taken early this morning which is why there is nobody around.

Chase down Vern and Elke Gazvoda. Everyone knows them, ask around. She is a rare poster.
Sparks is inland a bit. You might find Steve Cotton around too.

You couldn't find my place but I could come into town. Steve is in Barra but I haven't been to his house.
Elke would be a miss for me

Re: La Manzanilla
We would love to pick your brain about Melaque, Sparks. What would be a good day to meet? We are here until Saturday.
Re: La Manzanilla
We like La Manzanilla but found even in January it was a bit too slow and quiet for me, everyone else in our group liked it. We did learn not to rent a house that does not have a pool from that trip.
We adore Melaque and it is a classic beach town vibe with really good restaurants, again in high season. Thanks for the reminder that its time to call for resrvations.

How about Wednesday about 4 at Viva Maria 1910. It's almost the last beach restaurant on the West end. West is not out to sea ..... but towards La Manz
