Deb, picked up her permit at the boarder. Cost was $487.56...USD on August 10th! She returned to the boarder on 8/23! We received a credit of $388.66 USD, on the 26th, to our credit card, so all is good!

I thought TIP's were around $30. US. So what cost $100?

They used to be around $30.00. Several years ago they changed and the sticker cost is based on vehicle age.

There is a fee for the Importada Tempporal of around #30 USD.
Then, there is a vehicle deposit of $200-$400 USD, depending on the age of the vehicle.

It looks like you lost $70 someplace in the transaction. Exchange rate? Last screwing by the Mexican government?
