Friends are coming in mid-June and want to fly over for a few days. I think its the wrong time of year since they come at other times when it might be more comfortable but yeah it's their dime.

What are some tips for airlines to there?

Volaris has some pretty good prices from GDL to La Paz.

Depends where they want to go. There are flights from GDL to either La Paz, or Los Cabos. Or Tijuana. Flights and airlines change so often, but I know either VivaAerobus or Interjet serviced some GDL-Baja routes also.

It appears that Northern Baja has a much different climate than the south. In June, Ensenada, Rosarito and Valle de Guadalupe are daytime low 70's, then cool at night, down to low 50's. The Valle de Guadalupe is the south part of the wine country, mountainous. Flying to Tijuana, and then renting car at the airport would be the way to go. Make sure you check out google images of these places. We will be visiting once our blind, deaf, barkless and ancient (16.5 years) guard dog leaves us.

We went to La Paz from Guad on the Volaris Flight in March I think.  Hot in many places in summer. In fact our friends come here in middle of june to avoid heat in La Paz. I enjoyed the visit very much. Good suchi place in strip mall believe it or not.  Very well educated people, very clean. Will go back to visit but in winter.  Volaris flights was fine. In fact upon return flight the ground crew all stood up and waved to us goodbye. Nice touch. Is this normal or a La Paz thang?

The weather, and landscape, in northern Baja is very different than in the south. It's a big piece of real estate.
