The advice about mosquitos was totally wrong. You do not want to wait for them to bite. Dengue is a real drag. Especially for anyone with a compromised immune system or taking blood thinning meds.

You are absolutely right Solovino, thanks for presenting the big picture. My suggestion to apply mosquito repellant after a bite to alleviate the itching was shortsighted.

As somebody who has had "el denque", you may consider trying not getting the bite to begin with, the "sundown slather" is a ritual with me... This is a nasty extremely unpleasant illness, and if you're lucky you might get "classic" dengue as opposed to "hemorrhagic dengue". Oh, what fun.. splitting headache, fever, body aches and rash... of course, some of that may be easily acquired from a night out drinking... E:)
