Cops murder solved?

A friend in Ajijic said her maid told her that he had been a VERY bad man and was killed by the father, brother and son who ran the horse rentals at La Floresta. Anyone heard anything about this? As awful as that is..to me it would be good news that it wasn't the cartels. Any details, facts, corrections that you want to add?

According to her "They have arrested Father and his brother..son still on the lam." Come on guys...someone must have heard SOMETHING!

My maid says it is the guy who sells burros on Lopez Cotilla in Chapala.

Does anyone know for sure or is it just speculation on the part of the maids? I for one will feel better about Lakeside if it was a personal vendetta and not a move by the drug lords into the area.

I heard it involved drugs in a little town to the south of us, the same town where 12 cops quit. I doubt there will be any official confirmation of the real story if it is truly bad. It will fade away. If they did arrest some horse guys then we will hear about it in the news soon.

You're probably right. Things do seem to just fade away. Is it because they don't want bad news about the area to get out? You'd think that if they do catch the bad guys they'd shout it from the roof tops to show what a good job they're doing.

If the bad guys outnumber the good guys then it is tough. I read an article in a local paper that the Chapala cops make $3,185 pesos every 15 days and have no life insurance, well the municipality says life insurance is in the works and they will have coverage of $40,000 pesos.

So the local cops make under $500US to risk their lives daily using old guns, not all have body armor and have to confront arresting friends, family and neighbors for their crimes and the repercussions if they do and don't.

It's amazing that they can get anyone to do such a dangerous job for so little. I wish I knew the answer...until the towns can afford adequate fire power and protection..I don't see how they can keep a force who isn't "in bed" with the criminals. How else could they expect to stay alive and keep their families safe?

Well since marijuana has been "de-criminalized" in Mexico for almost a year now I can't see how allowing medical marijuana would make any difference. They have it up here in Vancouver and it hasn't made any impact on anything.

i heard that he had kidnapped the son of someone with money and held him for ransom . the ransom was paid and they killed the son anyway and this was payback for the son

I heard of that happening but in Ixtlahuacan and the rich dad shortchanged the kidnappers.
